Birds of the day!
Osprey nest - mother and baby osprey! |
This is a cormorant, - usually I get it mixed up with the Anhinga, but this is a cormorant for sure. The anhinga has a very pointed bill, the cormorant has a hooked tip on his bill. This guy has a hooked for sure. |
Mourning Dove! Cute! |
ok, no birds - only PARADISE! |

What we met on our little walk in Wildflower Preserve today...
We did a 2 hour walk in the parks in our "backyard" today, and saw some interesting creatures and plants!
a gorgous bouganvilla on the trail from Wildflower preserve to Amberjack Park. |
Birds x-ing... |
a HUGE alligator with his bird friends on the other side of Lemon Lake. |
a cool dead tree |
I don't know the name of this guy, but he sure was cool, and he told us to wait til he got safely across the road! |
and, we walked away, but waited, to make sure he came across safely. |
Great Egret, (I finally learned the difference, the great egret has black feet, the snowy egret is smaller and has a black bill and yellow feet) |
An osprey! |
Otto the Otter in Moorhen pond.... |
Bottlebrush |
you can tell why the name is bottlebrush... |
Beautiful, but I don't know the name! |
